SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Swarms of dead mayflies are creating a mess along the St. Joseph River in South Bend. University of Notre Dame entomologist Catherine Young says she had a personal encounter with the dead flies while riding her bicycle on a bridge across the river Monday.
