Kyle Pitcher is from Grand Rapids, Michigan and studied at Western Michigan University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in music education and a master's degree in music. In this guest post, he shares some of his favorite places to enjoy live music in South Bend, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Evansville in Indiana and his Master of Music Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he was not only an elementary school teacher, but also won the Indiana State University Teacher of the Year Award. His next step was a doctoral degree at Indiana City College in Indianapolis, the same year he began teaching at the Bay View Summer Music Festival. Indiana Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with the Evans County Symphony Orchestra and the Evansville Philarmonic (with whom I played for three seasons) and Indiana Public Schools.
He also holds a Master's degree in Music Education from Indiana State University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he studied with the Indiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the Evans County Symphony Orchestra. Rosalyn holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Eastman School of Music, where she worked as an assistant to viola professor George Taylor. She holds a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, and a Master of Arts in Education from Indiana City College in Indianapolis. He holds a bachelor's degree in education and music from Western Michigan University and Western Illinois University.
Ana is a collaborative pianist and is often invited to perform with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indiana Philharmonic Orchestra and Evans County Orchestra. She was also a member of Indiana State University's South Bend Symphony Orchestra and performed on the national stage and at the Round Barn Theater in Nappanee, Indiana. She has also performed at a number of festivals in the United States and Europe, most recently in New York City.
In addition to the various places mentioned, there is also a two-day event that takes place every summer, with local bands playing throughout the weekend. There is an acoustic open stage where you can only play and enjoy original music by over 50 local musicians.
